Macy’s is keeping the Christmas spirit alive by stocking “healthy” items, including clothing, in its stores, including a full line of “healthy-friendly” baby items and an assortment of food products.CEO Jim Kahn told CNBC that the company is still testing the effects of the pandemic on its stores.
“We’ve had a great response to the flu and our store teams have been very engaged in the stores to ensure that our customers have access to healthy items,” Kahn said.
“Our stores are stocked with healthy-friendly products and we’re very pleased with that response.”
Kahn noted that the Macy’s stores in New York City have seen a slight uptick in foot traffic since the pandemics began in late December.
“People are walking in the store, we’re seeing a lot more people,” he said.
Kahn said the company’s store teams are working to find ways to increase the stores’ profits.
The company has not announced a full list of items it will be stocking in the next few weeks.
